AddressThe Manager, Exhibitions and Creative Services will use their creative practice to inspire AIATSIS staff and encourage curiosity and ambition in delivering on the AIATSIS Creative Direction 2022-23: Navigating the Space in Between. The Manager, Exhibitions and Creative Services will play an integral role in designing a range of public engagement activities, including upcoming national and international exhibitions.
The key duties of the position include:Tasks and projects will include:
- Provide creative input to a range of AIATSIS projects in pursuit of the Creative Vision.
- Develop AIATSIS’ networks and connection to creative communities nationally and internationally.
- Design a range of exhibitions and displays in partnership with AIATSIS Communications and Collections programs.
- Develop workshops on the creative process and deliver to AIATSIS staff.
The ideal candidate will:
- be an enthusiastic, motivated individual with strong creative credentials
- be a recognised creative practitioner/producer with evidence of creative outputs
- have experience designing public engagement outputs, including physical and digital exhibitions and installations
- bring proven liaison and negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of formats. It will be necessary to adapt messaging to different audiences.
- have a demonstrated capacity to effectively prioritise and coordinate activities across business areas and to respond to change in a flexible manner
- understands Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business within the agency and the outcomes the agency is responsible for delivering
- actively learns from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples about their culture and supports others to do so
- works in genuine partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve shared outcomes
- takes the perspective of others, seeking to understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' points of view and experiences.
