The Northern Territory Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to work within the Rangelands Division as the Manager Geospatial Services. This role is a fixed term full time position until February, 2024, located in Darwin.

In this exciting role you will manage a team of system administrators, geospatial analysts and technicians to enable the timely dissemination and accessibility of environmentally focused data products and applications for internal and external stakeholders. You will support and collaborate on processes that ensure Departmental data, technology and systems are consistently managed and to optimise data outcomes that meet stakeholder needs.

To be the successful applicant, you will have demonstrated team leadership experience and the ability to implement policies and strategies within a geospatial or Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) context. You will have experience in growing and developing staff through effective planning, professional development, promoting innovative approaches, continuous improvement and nurturing a best practice environment. Your passion for geospatial applications and strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills allow you to engage with internal and external stakeholders (including service providers) to achieve positive outcomes.

You will have knowledge and experience in the spatial and information systems industry, and the ability to leverage this to produce compelling business cases, standards and processes. To translate data management and ICT challenges and opportunities between your team and management, you will have knowledge and experience of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing software, web mapping technologies, relational databases and system change management. Ideally, you also bring your knowledge of natural resource assessment and management practices and applications.
