About the Role
We are currently seeking a Health Information Manager to effectively manage and co-ordinate the functions of the Health Information Service to ensure both facilities are compliant in all aspects of patient medical record management and legislation, including accurate data collection and submission deadlines, clinical coding standards, privacy, record management, Freedom of Information requests, medico legal requests and staff management.
The Health Information team consists of this position, one full-time clinical coder and a part-time administrative assistant. This role works closely with clinicians across the health services, building their capacity through education, training and provision of professional advice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
A Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent
Eligible for membership with Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
Knowledge of privacy legislation and document control.
Understanding of DHHS Hospital Admission Policy.
Knowledge of State and Commonwealth Government statutory requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working as part of team.
Relevant computer skills applicable toPatient management systems including clinical coding and support services.
Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
Evidence of a current driver’s licenseas the position requires travel between three sites
