Job Summary
The Manager Infrastructure Design is responsible for implementing all on premise Infrastructure solutions across Optus IT. By leading a team of 20+ Infrastructure Design and Engineers, the role is responsible for providing workload management and technical guidance throughout the process of infrastructure design, procurement and implementation.
Your day in the life of a Manager Infrastructure Design at Optus
This position is accountable for developing and maintaining high level platform plans, detailed designs and cost estimates, next generation technology assessment and creating engineering guidelines or integration solutions for enhancement, growth and configuration to Corporate Network infrastructure platforms.
To identify opportunities to rationalise systems, with a view to cost reduction
Utilise their in-depth technical knowledge and experience to guide the Business Stakeholders and Solutions Architects
This role represents a lead/expert technical level within the team and as such demands the ability to operate without supervision for extended periods of time
Experience and Qualifications
IT Degree
Professional/technical skills
15+ years of experience in infrastructure Design and Platform Engineering.
Expert knowledge in the infrastructure platforms and associated technologies
Good understanding of the business for where the infrastructure platforms are been deployed
Experience in dealing with vendors on technology and services
Good knowledge of IT governance and operations
Understanding of financial modelling and budget planning processes related to platform hardware, software and services
Understanding of project and program management planning and methodologies
Experience in managing technical teams
