About our Opportunity
As the Manager, Investment Accounting (Property), the primary objective of the role is to provide financial leadership to the Property Investment Accounting Team to ensure delivery of timely and accurate financial reports and unit prices for Australian Unity’s Investment products. This will also include management of relationships with internal and third-party service providers and development of efficient and effective processes within the parameters of the Australian Unity Group Risk management framework.
A value add of the role is to hold a continuous improvement mind-set and to identify and contribute to the streamlining and elevation of policies, processes, procedures, tools, and templates to support the platforms customer ambitions.
What you will do
Timely and accurate delivery of daily unit prices for unit-linked products within agreed timeframes
Timely and accurate delivery of monthly and quarterly financial reports within agreed timelines
Effective controls in place to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information
Tax Obligations are properly recorded in accordance with specific requirements of each product
Effective working relationship put in place with internal and external tax teams ensuring efficient recording of tax obligations and understanding of tax characteristics of Investment products.
Ensure processes are continuously reviewed and enhanced so they are efficient, effective, and relevant for the accounting function
Provide effective leadership to the team to ensure effective delivery of required outcomes and development of staff skills and contribution
What we are looking for
CA or CPA qualified
Strong financial services experience within a similar role
Fund accounting and unit pricing experience
At least 2 years leadership experience
Great communication skills and the ability to cultivate productive and effective relationships
Results oriented, combined with initiative, tenacity, resilience and ability to multi-task and prioritise activities
