The Strategic Communication & Engagement Branch is responsible for the department's communications, media, social media, sponsorship, events and design. This role has a focus on promoting key government and departmental priorities through outstanding Public Affairs materials.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the preparation and approval processes of materials for the Minister and Director-General as well as departmental and mainstream publications.
- Manage a team of speech writers to ensure the timely provision and quality control for speeches, media releases, media responses, statements, and other materials, often within tight deadlines.
- Liaise with the Divisions and Regional Offices to ensure the delivery of information to facilitate requests from the Minister's Office and Director-General's Office for speeches, media releases and Ministerial or Director General's forewords.
- Investigate new ways for materials to be delivered while refining processes in consultation with key internal stakeholders.
