The Office of the Commonwealth Games (OCG) in DJPR will oversee the planning and coordination required to stage the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games, including the Games budget, governance coordination, commissioning infrastructure builds, government relations across the VPS and with local and federal governments and the achievement of Games legacy objectives.
The OCG will work in partnership with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) to deliver a world class Commonwealth Games, showcasing regional Victoria, in 2026.
The Team
The Manager Planning and Scheduling , Project Management Office (PMO) sits within the Commercial, Finance and Assurance Group, Office of the Commonwealth Games (OCG). The Group manages processes and associated budget management approaches as well as contract and compliance management for the Host Contract for the Victorian Government.
In addition, the Group delivers oversight and assurance processes around obligations, guarantees, budgets and funding agreements with the Local Organising Committee and other delivery partners.
The Role
Reporting to the Director PMO and Assurance, the role of Manager Planning and Scheduling (PMO) is responsible for providing high-level advice and leadership to support the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects for Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Key responsibilities of the role include the creating and overseeing all program planning activities, assessing policy and process, compliance, and coordinating project performance milestones.
Utilising planning and scheduling techniques you will work with project managers and other stakeholder groups to develop a scheduling framework to identify key dependencies, task prioritisation and project risks. Working as part of the boarder PMO delivery team the work will focus on mitigating the current risk and exposure of the enterprise, along with overseeing governance requirements.
Working in a dynamic environment, the successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with project teams providing advice and support that meets both the project needs and planning requirements.
About You
The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge, understanding and experience in project planning, co-ordination and scheduling methodologies.
- A relevant qualification in Project Planning, Scheduling & Control would be well regarded.
- Advanced Excel, MS Project skills including the use of Power B1, Tableau or similar is desirable
