Our storage and handling system currently receives and exports around 90 per cent of the Western Australian grain harvest and is regarded as one of the best in the world. We in-load via our own in-house design screw conveyor pits, bucket elevators, ground conveyors, trippers, and stackers into multiple storage types. We strive to continually improve our equipment from site feedback, and we have a strong pipeline of work that focuses on out-loading with multiple new rail loading facilities and expansions of our existing receival sites.

About the role
In response to an internal secondment, we're excited to offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Contracts professional to work in a 12-to-15-month role, 3 days a week, in a backfill position.
Our Project Delivery Group is a collective force, combining expertise in construction, commercial, engineering, project management, studies, and rail. With this wealth of knowledge, we create and deliver projects that optimise safety, efficiency, effectiveness, and capacity for CBH's supply chain infrastructure. Together, we act as a cohesive unit, driving the success of our supply chain and sustaining value for West Australian grain growers. You will be working on multiple projects across the PDG Portfolio including Expansion, Enhancement, Rail Outloading and Infrastructure requiring design, technical support and governance. You will also service Operations and Maintenance Teams through Engineering Work Requests.

Your role will involve stepping into managerial and project cost control responsibilities, including:

  • Utilising CBH contract management solutions for the Project Delivery Group, emphasising collaboration to drive value through sustainable procurement practices across various project and contract models.
  • Drafting, negotiating, implementing, and managing contracts while providing expert support in contract management.
  • Supporting the Project Controls function to ensure accurate cost controls and provide insights across our project portfolio.
Our ideal candidate:
We're seeking an individual who embodies our values of collaboration, reliability, respect, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree in Commerce, Law, Engineering, Procurement, Business/Management, or equivalent.
  • Extensive contracting experience (10+ years), with a minimum of 5 years in a project environment and at least 2 years in team leadership roles.
  • Experience managing Contracts and Procurement Staff.
  • Profound knowledge of various contract types and a proven track record in drafting and managing significant construction contracts exceeding $50M.
  • Familiarity with the day-to-day administration of contracts, including managing meetings, communications, and performance.
Beneficial experience:
Experience in the logistics and supply chain industry would be advantageous, along with a working knowledge of SAP, CMS, and Ariba. Additionally, highly developed computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Power BI and Power Query, would be beneficial.
