You will be joining the Risk Advisory team providing our Home Buying, Third Party Banking (TPB) and Residential Mortgage Group (RMG) businesses with the visibility and tools to effectively manage and optimise their risk and control framework.

As a member of the team in the Home Buying Risk Advisory Team, you will be providing pragmatic risk advice to Home Buying business owners through proactive management of the business profile, deep understanding of the control environment and identification of delivered risk through risk in change.

This exciting opportunity exists to drive deep understanding of obligations, risks and the control environment and with a specific focus on our mortgage Broker Head Groups.

Pivotal to the role is the effective administration of the Third Party Banking Head Group Assurance Program (HGAP) which aims to provide assurance over our third party distributors’ (Head Groups) processes and controls relating to credit assistance activities they provide as part of selling a home loan. This enabling us to form an opinion on the effectiveness of the Head Group’s control and governance frameworks and whether they are complying with their contractual arrangement

In any given week you will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Coordinating and managing the delivery of the Head Group Assurance Program (HGAP).
• Maintain oversight of HGAP to ensure program delivery to timeframes.
• Support key governance activities to TPB governance forums to ensure oversight of HG review status and outcomes and HG action plans.
• Lead periodic review activities into the design of the program’s effectiveness, including recommendations on uplift opportunities.
• Proactively understand the key HGAP assessment areas and criteria and the regulatory environment.
• Coordinate with external consultants to execute the program including file reviews and site visits.
• Foster strong stakeholder relationships with risk, control and Third Party Banking business owners.
• Drive the risk culture and awareness within Home Buying’s Third Party Banking area.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Strong knowledge of Operational and Governance Risk frameworks - application to Third Party/Supplier/Outsourcing risks would be advantageous.
• Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions
• Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems with excellent attention to detail
• Strong Oral and Written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly capture action plans to an appropriate level of detail.
