The Opportunity
We have an opportunity available for a Group Risk and Compliance Manager to join AIA and support our Life insurance business. Reporting to the General Manager, Risk and Compliance the successful candidate will work as part of a small team and be responsible for promoting, guiding and facilitating ownership and management of risk across the business unit. This opportunity can be located in either our AIA Melbourne or Sydney office and a hybrid work model is on offer.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including Group Distribution team members, and Group Product Managers under the Chief Group Insurance Officer
Develop and deliver the Risk and Compliance plans for the Business Unit
Own and manage risks within the Business Unit on a daily basis
Assist the Business Unit to develop and implement controls and to test whether these controls are effective
Develop innovative and improved operating practices for control design and testing.
Monitor the risk profile to identify, understand, escalate and report on issues, incidents, and changes in the business
Provide support to understand and mitigate the risks of change from projects and other initiatives (Change Risk)
Other key duties and involvement in projects as required.
Successful applications will demonstrate:
A deep understanding of the financial services industry, risk and business delivery
Previous experience working within internal or external audit in a financial services environment
Experience working within life insurance would be highly regarded
A proven track record of identifying, managing and mitigating risks in a financial service environment, achieving business delivery cost outcomes and exceptional customer service
Knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, methodologies and approaches
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A willingness to make this role their own and grow into a leadership role in time.
