About the Role
As our Manager Risk - Contact Centre, Experience & Brand you’ll be the main point of call for providing risk advice and guidance for our Contact Centre, Marketing, Customer Relations and Data Analytics teams. You will get the opportunity to put your Risk knowledge to practice as you will be heavily involved with the analysis, investigation, assessment, mitigation, management and reporting across all relevant risk matters – that’s right, this role is paramount to our day-to-day Risk!
You’ll also get the chance to work alongside our fabulous Head of Risk (Line 1), assisting in managing general Risk activities, and other ad hoc Risk related activities as necessary, across BOQ Group’s varied divisions. You’ll lead a small passionate team of Risk professionals to support and educate the lines of business, understanding their risk-based accountabilities and provide actionable insights to strengthen controls, improving our risk positioning.

You’ll make a difference by supporting managers and their teams with their specific pain-points, whilst also being responsible for collaborating across differing business units and continue to grow our Risk cultural maturity. Your continuous improvement mindset will help deliver the ongoing uplift in our risk intelligence – we call that rQ around here – maturing the Risk lens, ensuring it’s at the forefront in everything that we do.

About you
As an experienced Risk Leader, you will join us with experience ideally from a Retail Bank or a financial institution. You get that we operate in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment so we are seeking a strategic thinker who can problem-solve on the fly. You will have a thorough understanding of banking and the relevant banking legislation such as National Consumer Credit Protection legislation and the Banking Code of Practice! Collaboration and partnership come naturally to you, where you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, participating, and promoting cooperative working relationships across the organisation.
You’re enthusiastic and an analytical problem solver – and naturally eager to progress your knowledge in risk management, stakeholder management and people leadership. As a people-person and outcome-driven professional you enjoy proactively communicating with the business to understand and reach their vision.
With your knowledge of financial Risk management and Best Practice principles, you’re the go-to when it comes to the everything in the Retail Banking Risk space – yip, Risk awareness is in your DNA! You have a strong ability to lead, coordinate, communicate and integrate projects from the ground up, taking accountability for their overall success.
