Balonne Shire Council is seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Manager Roads Construction and Maintenance to lead the operations of Council’s roads, drainage (including bridges), plant, fleet and aerodromes. As the Manager Roads Construction and Maintenance, you will build networks with key stakeholders, negotiating and influencing to promote and embed the organisation’s roads infrastructure strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and mentor a motivated, multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor and provide technical support for council’s infrastructure program.
- Take a commercial approach to your work activities and processes.
- Develop key contractual relationships within the roads infrastructure sector.
- Project manage council’s roads infrastructure projects and programs.
- Manage contractors, procurement and project budgets.
Personal Attributes and Qualifications Required:
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in a similar role with the ability to operate at a management level.
- Project management expertise will be highly regarded.
- Experience in maintenance and asset management systems and processes.
- Demonstrated organisational leadership qualities.
- High level of customer service and communication skills.
