You are a seasoned health and safety professional who will lead Safety and Wellbeing function. You will shape strategy and culture throughout a large organisation covering a cross section of unique environments from field and remote locations, office environments, and emergency response incidents. You are an influential leader with a true passion for enabling a wholistic culture of psychological and physical wellbeing throughout an organisation passionate about protecting Victoria's environment and out people.
What you'll do
- Lead EPA's health, safety, and wellbeing strategy and projects - shaping direction, communication, and implementation across all divisions.
- Uplift the core safety agenda; strengthening remit and processes to ensure a culture of wholistic physical and psychological safety and wellbeing.
- Drive process improvement across health and safety policy, projects, and day-to-day safety measures.
- Be the subject matter expert; partnering with senior leadership and HSRs across the organisation to advise, educate, and build dynamic risk assessments and assets.
- Stay abreast of contemporary, innovative industry practices and apply findings internally.
- You have a strong understanding and ability to pragmatically interpret and apply work health & safety legislation and policy into practice,
- You hold 5+ years of hands-on experience leading a health and safety function - ideally within a regulatory or public sector environment,
- You have demonstrated experience shaping organisational culture at multiple levels, embedding a culture of wellbeing and safety across all environments.
- You may have tertiary qualifications Occupational Health & Safety [ideal but not essential]
- You have strong knowledge of leading industry safety systems and best-practice processes.
- You have a demonstrated ability to influence and lead change - enabling a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- We require our preferred candidates are required to submit proof of compliance with EPAs COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (two doses of COVID-19 vaccine plus at least one booster dose).
- We also require our preferred candidate to undergo pre-employment checks including, but not limited to, police checks, reference checks and role related security clearances.
- You must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident as our role is ongoing.
