The Manager provides leadership and direction to the Program Design, Delivery and Procurement team to design, develop and implement program initiatives for Disability and Seniors Connect.

You will have extensive experience across the public and/or not-for-profit sectors and you will have a strong background in procurement and program design and/or delivery. You will have a proven track record as a manager of staff in challenging environments and in fostering a confident and capable team.

  • Provide leadership, advice/consultancy and mentoring to a team about program and initiative design and delivery and core processes and practices related to procurement activity.
  • Manage the design and implementation of departmental programs and initiatives in relation to the provision of high-quality services to seniors and Queenslanders with disability.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships and establish partnerships with a range of stakeholders, including peak bodies, other Queensland Government agencies, and private sector representatives.
  • Lead procurement processes including evaluation and selection of suppliers in partnership with various business areas.
  • Manage the performance of a diverse range of suppliers to ensure effective utilisation and value for money of the investment.
  • Provide high level and evidence-informed procurement and program advice to achieve the department's strategic objectives in relation to the management of public funds.
  • Plan, organise and manage the team's responsibilities, including fostering a professional environment to encourage commitment, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team prepares high quality reports, briefs, executive correspondence and other documents concerned with the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
  • Actively contribute to the strategic management of department as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and participate on other key governance groups as required.
  • Undertake other tasks and activities as requested by your line managers.
