With frequent direct flights to Townsville and Brisbane, it is located 120km from the next largest town of Mt Isa. There are two schools available, Cloncurry State School (Prep - Grade 12) and St Joseph's Catholic School (Prep - Grade 9), and there are also Daycare and Kindergarten facilities in town.As a member of the District Leadership Team, you will consult and collaborate with project sponsors and program managers to determine program criteria and priorities.Accountabilities include: - Provide vision and direction to the Technical Services (TS) function and ensure TS services and activities are delivered in alignment with state-wide priorities and goals.- Ensure the application and management of technical and administrative governance frameworks in order to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards, and procedures associated with infrastructure activities.- Implement strategies to ensure ongoing technical capability across services provided by TS, including permanent staff supplemented by contractors and external consultancies, in alignment with the needs of functional areas.- Maintain a TS program of works and customer base by liaising with functional areas and other Managers (Technical Services) to ensure consistent allocation of resources, outputs, and standards in contributing to the delivery of the state-wide program and priorities.- Coordinate the engagement of consultants and monitor performance in accordance with contractual arrangements.- Provide authoritative advice to the District Director and program managers on TS issues.- Ensure delivery and competence of the outputs in those functional areas for the preconstruction delivery.- Directly manage parts of the program to be delivered by the TS function.This position reports to the District Director and has eight direct reports.The role also offers: - Outback location - Cloncurry, North West District- Salary $117,662 to $126,011 with employer superannuation contributions up to 12.75% (plus Rural and Remote Area Incentives)- 5 weeks annual leave with annual leave loading of 17.5%- Relocation and transfer allowances included in the package- Flexible working conditions- Family and pet friendly accommodation available- Generous benefits packageMandatory requirements: - C driver's licence.- Criminal history screening is a mandatory requirement of the person recommended for this position.- It is a condition of employment for recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.Benefits: Please download the role description for a full list of potential benefits for employees or contact Kylee Petersen to discuss the role, the incentives and the opportunity further on (07) 4421 8847 or by emailing kylee.m.petersen@tmr.qld.gov.auHow to apply: Apply online at www.smartjobs.qld.gov.au with the following information for the panel to assess your suitability -
