Job description

  • Technical Performance Manager - 2 years fixed term

  • Grade 9

About us

Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do - and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.

We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.

That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW - you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

About the team

With population in Sydney expected to grow from five million to eight million in the next 40 years, improvements to existing transport networks and the creation of new transport connections will be to meet the growing needs of our communities. To manage this growth, Transport has signed a long-term contract with an industry partner for the asset management, operation and maintenance of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel (SHT) and future Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT). The new agreement will see a continuation of the high standard of service that has been delivered over the life of the current SHT contract.

Transport's Infrastructure and Place division develops and delivers transport infrastructure across NSW. We are a trusted partner to our clients, providing smart, integrated and sustainable infrastructure and places for our customers and communities.

Right now, we're delivering the biggest transport infrastructure program Australia has ever seen. Working as part of an integrated team across divisions, the WHT & SHT Asset Management team is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the two tunnels within the Transport network, applying innovative solutions to ensure asset management and optimisation opportunities are captured and delivered on behalf of Transport.

The opportunity

As Technical Performance Manager you'll be responsible for leading monitoring and assessment of technical contract deliverables, providing whole of life assurance for some of Transport's most iconic transport infrastructure projects.

You will provide advice, utilising your knowledge to support assessments of cost, performance, impacts and risks as they relate to commercial and technical outcomes.

This role will see you supporting your team with expertise to influence whole-of-life outcomes and shaping how communities live, work and play.
