Job description

How will I help?

This role plays a leading role in implementing and managing risk management and monitoring obligations in the Mortgages line of business, supporting consistent implementation, and embedding of risk management framework, policies and controls.

This role is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders on all matters risk and control, developing pragmatic solutions to risk and control problems through to end-to-end implementation.

It is an expectation of this role to support a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs.

Responsibilities include:
Embedding Risk Framework:
As part of a team of risk professionals contribute to ensuring the divisional and business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and appetite of the Group.
Support the business to drive a strong risk culture and awareness in day-to-day business decisions and business strategic initiatives, with particular focus over risk in change activities.
Act as the first point of contact in relation to the Mortgages LOB risk controls and policies and provides advice or input into business risks and incident management support in line with Policy requirements.

Managing Risk outcomes:
Work across Mortgages LOB and vendors to provide end to end risk in change oversight and support, including Compliance change, and complete risk assessments via Risk and Control Matrices.
Support management in the pro-active oversight, coordination and consideration of the risk and control implications of key projects and change management initiatives raised through the change front door
Provide oversight and facilitate regular reviews to ensure ongoing operation within the business' defined risk appetite, and support the capture of supporting metrics and thresholds.
Assist in undertaking trigger based and thematic reviews as required to support risk profile refresh activities
BCM support for Mortgages initiatives going through the QBR and Board Strategic Review processes.
Provide Risk advisory support and subject matter expertise for Mortgages product reviews and Mortgages LOB remediation activities

Stakeholder Management and Communication:
Coach and support business resources in how to manage Incidents in line with the Incident management policy and comply with their risk and compliance obligations, including aiding in the development of solutions, rectification and remediation plans.
Partner with key Mortgages LOB business stakeholders on all matters risk in change to ensure appropriate outcomes and management in line with risk appetite

Driving High Performance:
Monitor effectiveness of Incident management practices, ensure timely and effective remediation and rectification and escalate roadblocks or closure delays as required.
Ensure quality of Juno records and updates by monitoring and tracking actions against risk and control incidents identified.
Support delivery of timely, accurate and fit-for purpose risk assessments, risk reviews and risk profile refresh activities

What do I need?

5+ years of operational risk / compliance advisory experience, Risk Management, Legal or Compliance Experience, with tertiary and industry qualifications in risk, compliance or business. In addition to this, the successful candidate will possess outstanding skills in building relationships and teamwork, customer and business focused with a proactive and outcomes focused mindset.
