About the role

We are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the role of Plant Manager at our groundwater treatment facility in Botany, NSW.

Located approximately 15km South of Sydney CBD, the facility draws groundwater which is then recycled to remove contaminants to produce treated water for industrial reuse,

Working on a residential Monday - Friday roster, The Plant Manager will assume overall responsibility for Safety, People Management, Quality, Delivery, Cost and the associated improvement strategies at this iconic and crucial Orica plant.

The role will suit an ambitious candidate with an engineering background who comes equipped with significant operational management experience within continuous manufacturing. The successful candidate will be seen as a future Senior Leader with Orica, to which a defined career pathway will be carved-out. What you will be doing

  • Manage all aspects of, and disciplines relating to plant operations including Safety, Production, Maintenance, Projects, HR, and Supply chain;
  • Ensure site safety management systems, including operating procedures, security and emergency plans, are reviewed and adhered to;
  • Take accountability for ensuring that daily, weekly, monthly and annual production targets are being met and surpassed;
  • Lead, coach, train, motivate and manage a talented team of 35+ plant operations, maintenance, engineering and support employees;
  • Ensure that reliability of all assets are maintained at an appropriately high level, by ensuring effective maintenance systems and resources in place;
  • Proactively maintain relationships with external stakeholders across regulatory bodies, local community and local industry.
What you will bring
  • Formal tertiary qualification in engineering or science discipline is essential;
  • Minimum experience of 10 years in a manufacturing industry, 5 of which in an operational leadership capacity;
  • Considerable change management & process improvement experience;
  • Incredible leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate all plant employees through an and inclusive authentic leadership style;
  • Strong problem solving & project management skills.
