The Communications Manager will be in charge of overseeing all external communications for HCL Technologies in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring the company’s messaging is consistent and engaging. The main duties include preparing detailed media reports, press releases, and marketing materials.
Responsibilities and duties
Press announcements and communications
- Manage a drumbeat of media releases for local market and leverage global announcements in the region
- Coordinate with ANZ business teams
- Coordinate with global communication teams (web, social media, investor relations and secretarial teams) and source/share opportunities from your region or seek those from other regions to adapt to attract positive media attention in ANZ
- Maintain detailed log of all ANZ press releases including outgoing; any direct media feedback; and media coverage attained in print, on air, or online with data for reach, followers, CPI and ROI
- Approve external content such as blogs, byline articles, thought leadership articles, and more Media relations o Manage media relations for Australia and New Zealand, coordinate with journalists for stories on HCL
- Plan leadership interviews, place articles with various publications
- Create responses to media queries and manage approvals of statements Corporate earnings reporting
- Coordinate with business and finance teams for quarter-specific deal details, manage descriptors of details for investor release
- Consolidate key messaging for investor release and finalize messaging under direction from leadership
- Actively participate in earnings press conference Program management
- Work on various external communication documents and maintain records
- Create statements during crisis situations and monitor related global developments
- Work with global teams on strategic initiatives
Requirements for candidates
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or relevant field
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role (not necessarily with a technology company)
- Proven success in designing and executing marketing and communications strategies and campaigns
- Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques o Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to multitask and work well under tight deadlines o Excellent program management skills
- Able to work with globally distributed teams
