Position Summary
Maternal Child Health Nurse - Agnes
Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurse to join the Agnes Unit team on a part time basis at 40 hours per fortnight.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager this role will be required to support management in the establishment and maintenance of strong partnerships with key external agencies to provide a collaborative service system focused on optimal outcomes for vulnerable infants of the Parent and Infant Unit at Latrobe Regional Hospital. The Agnes Unit accommodates five families in a seven day residential unit providing therapeutic and clinical support to new parents and their infants up to 12 months of age. It is a sub-acute unit accepting clients with complex needs. The unit supports interventions that may be required for adjustment or emotional issues through to moderate mental health concerns.
The successful applicant will:
- Be able to independantly perform physical assessment and continued monitoring of all infants in the Parent and Infant Unit.
- Be involved in the enhancement of famalies parenting competencies.
- Be involved in close monitoring and assessment of the mental health stauts of clients and their infants.
- Work with clients who have perinatal depression and/or anxiety, a history of trauma, relationship concerns, bonding issues and adjustment disorders.

Selection Criteria Essential: Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19
Essential: Current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - Registered Nurse/Midwife with Maternal Child Health qualifications.
Essential: Commitment to and evidence of ongoing professional training development.
Essential: Sound clinical knowledge, skills and a minimum of 2 years clinical MCHN experience.
Essential: Demonstrated recent experience working with parents and infants in the perinatal period.
