About the role
Our Protected Vehicles business is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer in support of the manufacture, servicing, repairs and upgrades to the Australian Defence Forces Bushmaster and Hawkei vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Systems Services Manager
Conduct Design, Develop and Validate Components and Systems for medium and heavy vehicle using appropriate tools and technique
Interpret customer requirement and provides design solution
Translate system requirement into solution
Perform Engineering Analysis and Investigation
Apply relevant industry standard and regulations
Release design to production and procurement
Analyses cost versus quality trade-offs of alternative product designs and materials and estimates the total cost of developing a proposed product
Conducts prototyping, troubleshooting, trials, tests and demonstration of the solution
Create, interpret and analysis Technical Documents
Provide technical guidelines to peers as required and oversee others works
identifies the technical risk and opportunity
How about you?
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Execution of the Engineering DDQS (Design, Develop & Qualify the Solution) activities for Sub-Systems
Experience in design and manufacturing environments
Able to perform first principal engineering calculations.
Sound knowledge of engineering materials in relevant area
Knowledge of RAMS, DFMEA, 3D CAD and PLM System
