We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety focused Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
About the role:
- Safely, effectively and accurately perform all tasks to the clients and Midfield scope of work and defined quality standards
- Work is planned, executed, and delivered to schedule in a safe manor
- Assist with costing, quoting and tendering process when requested
- Day to day delivery of high-quality support to the client
- Assist in the management, and training of apprentices and other employees as required.
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
- selecting tools and equipment
- assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
- estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
- performing and directing field and laboratory tests
- collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
- organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
- ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
- Timely and courteous response to internal and external client calls for assistance.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
- Performing quality checks on completed projects
- Conforming with state and company safety regulations
- Completing job reports and company permits as required
- Chooses materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building
- Documents problems and summary of actions taken
- Performs inspections of plant equipment systems to identify and replace worn parts
- Fitting & Machining trade or equivalent qualifications. (essential)
- Certificate III in Engineering
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in workshop and site based maintenance.

- Pay rates based on experience level plus super Base Salary of $75,000 - $84,999 + overtime
