Address MECHANICAL FITTING AND TURNING
This apprenticeship will provide you with a comprehensive practical and theoretical base to help you develop mechanical skills, an understanding of technical procedures, concepts and knowledge of safe working practices in the LNG industry.
Mechanical fitters carry out repairs and maintenance to a wide range of mechanical equipment such as pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, process compressors, gas turbines and other mechanical components.
Tasks
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain skills and experience across areas including:
Carrying out basic engineering calculations
Developing skills using a wide range of hand and power operated tools
Using electric welding and fuel gas cutting equipment
Interpreting technical workshop drawings
Installing, commissioning, testing and repairing a variety of machinery to manufacturers specifications
Installing and maintaining mechanical power transmission equipment
Servicing, repairing and carrying out diagnostic work on hydraulic
