Our Ergon Energy Network has a permanent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter Generation to be located in Cairns and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.
The Remote & Embedded Generation group is accountable for Power Station maintenance, construction, fault response and the delivery of services to remote Queensland communities.
As a Mechanical Fitter you will work in a field and workshop-based group involved with the construction, installation, fault finding and maintenance of Diesel and Alternative Energy Generation Plant.
You will be required to travel to remote communities to undertake work in a close team environment therefore you will need to be prepared to travel in light aircraft. You will also require a current ‘C’ Class open driver’s licence.
Before you apply it’s important you have:
A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (essential).
Experience with power generation equipment and industrial control systems.
Experience in Metal Fabrication, Engine Diagnosing and Componentry Rebuilds would be highly advantageous.
A team player attitude with confidence to develop good working relationships in a team environment.
Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
Availability to participate in an on-call roster and be available for call out emergencies.

This is a 9-day fortnight role.
