Council is seeking applications for a Mechanical Fitter to assist with maintenance and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.
About the role
The Mechanical Fitter will perform maintenance to pump stations within the reticulation area, including mechanical maintenance of plant at various Burdekin Shire Council sites. This position includes mechanical installation and maintenance work on plant and equipment which includes but is not limited to; chlorination and other chemical equipment, various mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic items of equipment, various pumps and other items of equipment including safe removal of sewerage blockages from pumps and needle disposal to sharps containers as required. The successful applicant will be required to perform various non-trade tasks incidental to the work area. On a day-to-day basis, work efficiently and accurately, exercising initiative in the application of established work procedures.

The successful applicant has the potential to earn up to an estimated $110,000 per year (inclusive of overtime, penalties and allowances) The commencing salary will be dependent upon the experience and qualifications of the successful applicant.
