We’re looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join one of Australia’s fasting growing engineering companies.

Our client has risen quickly and solidly over the last 5-10 years to become one of the trusted multidiscipline engineering firms in Australia. Their success has uniquely been built without the usual flashy self-promotion, but rather their determination, skill and innovative outlook, and the solid trusting relationships they have with their long term clients.
They work with blue chip mining companies from pre-feasibility through to detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
They have a variety of ongoing projects and work packages meaning staff have the opportunity to work on new projects every year, gain new skills, and there is a constant flow of long term work, bringing that stability and permanency which some in the design field can find missing, whilst also allowing people to grow and develop into new areas and work streams, and to have a bit of variety in their work.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Mechanical Project Engineer will use technical knowledge and experience for the execution of mechanical design projects and provide support and input into the continuous development of business strategy, tools and systems which improve design delivery for projects within the resources sector.
Based in the Melbourne office, you will be working on Perth projects initially, with occasional visits to Perth as required. For those that love to experience new places and are keen on a new adventure, there will be the opportunity to relocate temporarily or permanently in Perth.

Provide technical advice on projects to both the design and project teams.
Support and collaborate with the design team to develop designs for a wide range of plant elements.
Participate in the complete engineering process from concept development through to product manufacturing and commissioning.
Work closely with both the design and project teams to outline scope, undertake cost estimating, recommend feasible solutions and ensure the final product meets client and compliance requirements.
Prepare technical engineering documents and reports as part of overall project engineering deliverables.
About you
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for discovery and a commitment to workplace wellbeing and safety. As part of a small, tight-knit team, strong relationship building, and communication skills will be critical in this role.

Variety of career development opportunities in technical engineering design, project and people management moving forward. Move your career where your interests lie.
