About the Opportunity
The Media Manager sits within the Media Branch and leads and manages a team to provide exemplary strategic advice on communications and media for transport in Victoria. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a proactive media strategy for Department of Transport, identifying and mitigating reputational issues, and monitoring trends within the media and transport sector. The Media Manager will also be accountable for working collaboratively alongside other senior media professionals as part of DoT's joint media team, including contributing to a proactive media calendar and sharing best practice.
This is a rare opportunity to join the Department of Transport, if you are looking to re-join the workforce after an extended period of leave then this would be an excellent role as its a part-time, job share with the existing substantive Media Manager for twelve months.
About You
- Ability to Identify key messages and information required for decision-making to provide high level advice on influencing and the needs of target audiences.
- Experienced in stakeholder relationship building and the use formal and informal influencing relationships and decision-making processes.
- Able to ensure solutions or actions adhere to values, ethics, responsibilities, legal obligations and limits that apply to an organisation.
- Experience in delivering tangible business outcomes as a result of critically evaluating problems from multiple perspectives and delivering effective solutions.
- Your people leadership skills will ensure staff are productively deployed through effective workforce planning practices and ability to translate organisational strategy into workforce requirements.
- You'll be organised and able to work collaboratively with many stakeholders, particularly with your job share partner.
