We are currently seeking to appoint one (1) Medical Co-Director at 10 sessions per fortnight at Bunbury Hospital.

This is a Recruitment pool for Fixed Term – Sessional 5-year appointments, with possibility for extension(s).

Whilst the Medical Co-Director position is sessional, if full-time employment is preferred, the panel is willing to negotiate with the successful candidate on other options/opportunities for senior consultant/clinical duties, private practice or secondary employment, depending on area of specialty and individual circumstances external to this process.

Position Profile: The Medical Co-Director is jointly responsible with the Service Co-Director and is accountable to the Director Bunbury Hospital for achieving the objectives defined for their service stream. The Medical Co-Director will work in partnership with the Service Co-Director, Director Medical Services and other Co-Directors to provide effective leadership, strategic planning, governance and operational management of the clinical stream and aligned services across the South West region. The role supports all staff within their stream to provide high quality and efficient patient care consistent with the hospital, the South West region and WACHS safety, quality and performance frameworks; and, as part of the executive team, provides clinical and corporate governance within Bunbury Hospital and provides clinical leadership regionally.

The Medical Co-Directors form part of the Bunbury Hospital Executive and need to demonstrate their commitment to the strengthening and ongoing involvement in engaging with clinicians in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services. This role also has responsibility for leading transformation and service improvement within the Clinical Stream and working closely with stakeholders.
