Medical Imaging Wardsperson / Hospital Assistant
The Medical Imaging Department within Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a wardsperson to work as a multi-skilled team member of the imaging department. As a successful candidate, you will provide non-clinical support throughout the Calvary Mater campus to complement the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient care.
Your duties will include: transporting of patients, episodic cleaning, couriering of items as well as general duties and patient assistance under the direction of clinical imaging staff.
Ideally, you will be able to prioritise workloads, communicate effectively with other staff members, participate in a 7-day rotating roster as well as work within a multidisciplinary team.
You will be provided orientation, mandatory training and on-the-job training. You will be supported by a team of other wardspeople who have worked in the department as well as other clinical imaging staff.

Information for Applicants:
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
