The Role:
The Drug & Alcohol General Practitioner is a key member in the delivery of GP services to people in Immigration Detention in our facility in Yongah Hill, Northam WA. Some additional Duties below,
- Assess, diagnose and treat clients in Immigration Detention in relation to drug and/or alcohol dependency.
- Prescribe medications specific to the treatment of drug and/or alcohol addiction and provide ongoing evaluation of these clients.
To be considered you must have:
- Full Unconditional AHPRA Registration
- Primary Care experience essential with experience in rural/remote setting and/or emergency care highly desirable, alternatively we will consider a medical officer with an interest in remote work;
- Fellowship of the RACGP or recognition as a General Practitioner
- Experience with computerised medical records and medical practice systems is highly desirable
- Experience with mental health management at a General Practitioner level.
- Live in Australia or New Zealand and have work rights in Australia
- Evidence of training and accreditation in prescribing for the treatment of opioid dependence or willing to obtain this course.
- Current HLTAID002 - Basic Life Support Certificate (or willing to obtain)
