We are seeking a person with excellent presentation and a warm, friendly personality and empathetic and kind nature who can work cohesively, productively, and tidily within our current small team environment to contribute to an effective, professional and happy work environment.
As a medical receptionist, you will consistently be the first point of contact, so excellent presentation, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and telephone manner are essential. This position will be required to provide holiday relief so the ability to work 38 hours on occasion is required.
What we are looking for:
Experience with practice management software, Medicare, Health Fund and Private Practice billing, or possess the capacity to quickly acquire and retain knowledge of the relevant systems and engage in ongoing self-directed and formal learning
Have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and a delightful telephone manner and tone and a demonstrated understanding of customer service excellence in a private medical setting
Be reliable and committed to effectively liaising in a helpful, professional, sensitive and understanding manner with a diverse range of internal and external associates, practitioners and patients whilst maintaining strict confidentiality
Possess well-developed organisational and time management skills, including ability to problem-solve and prioritise multiple tasks and issues simultaneously in a busy private practice environment
Be able to consistently follow established processes, but also be capable of using initiative when required and work without direct supervision
Have achieved a sound year 12 pass in mathematics & English, or an IELTS score of 8 or above
Have a demonstrated capacity to accurately touch-type at a speed of 70+ WPM, demonstrated computer proficiency skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
Possess a valid driver’s licence and reliable motor vehicle
Current First Aid & CPR
Nursing experience is highly desirable
Whilst not mandatory, experience in a specialist practice environment is highly desirable, as is a sound knowledge of Genie Solutions medical software, Medical Objects and understanding of industry-specific terminology and billing.
Training will be provided for the right person.
