Overview
We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Whyalla Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Services where you will provide non-clinical, psychosocial rehabilitation support to mental health consumers in conjunction with those services provided by the Community mental health rehabilitation service (CMHRS) team.
As the Mental Health Support Worker the tasks and duties you perform will be of a practical nature, supporting a resident’s accomplishment of their stated goals of rehabilitation and recovery. This will involve working across a range of environments to assist and support the development of the resident’s rehabilitation in partnership with their existing formal and informal networks.
Striving to improving health outcomes for consumers, their carers and families, you will establish and maintain therapeutic relationships and provide assertive psychosocial support services to both consumers and their carers. It is expected that you will respond sensitively and non-judgmentally to consumers and their families, and maintain confidentiality at all times. You will provide services that are culturally sensitive to the needs of people and enable them to make decisions concerning their mental health.
