Our client is currently seeking a strong meteorologist for their business. You will have Sound knowledge of the science and technologies that underpin operational meteorology, with an emphasis on the ability to effectively use monitoring, diagnostic and forecasting tools.
Demonstrated experience and sound judgement in the provision of impact-based meteorological services.
A degree or diploma of an Australian educational institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which is appropriate to the duties; OR other comparable qualifications, which are appropriate to the duties.
Qualifications as a meteorologist will be highly regarded. Candidates should hold a a Basic Instruction Package for Meteorologists (BIP-M), as defined by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO). Demonstrated experience in forecasting, atmospheric sciences or science may be considered in place of the BIP-M.
An understanding of ADF requirements for meteorological services would be advantageous, but not required.
