Location: Townsville
Join an established midwifery team to support high and low pregnancies and births. This hospital Has 7 birthing rooms, 2 assessment suites and a 32 anti and prenatal bed unit. Townsville Hospital see up to 2.5 thousand births per year with a ratio of 1:1 in the birthing unit and is a busy tertiary hospital assisting many surrounding communities.
In the maternity unit each midwife is assigned 4-5 (+babies) mums in the day and 6-7 (+babies) on nightshifts.
Townsville is a level 6 hospital with a NICU and special care nursery who also look after preterm baby's up to 23 weeks.
You will receive support on the floor with a designated CMC for both Maternity and Birth Suite and a Midwifery Educator covering both areas
ieMR training will be provided – (two days training provided) or use ieMR/MAR (integrated electronic medical record and medication)
$250 travel allowance each way
Own accommodation preferred, although onsite accommodation can be negotiated with offsite accommodation arranged only when onsite cannot be sourced
