Job Purpose: 

As a result of continued growth in our Mining Technology division, we currently have opportunities for energetic and driven leaders to act as the single Caterpillar point of contact for large mining customers.  You will be responsible for the effective implementation of Autonomous Hauling Solutions on mining sites and ensure compliance with contractual commitments.   

Job Duties include but not limited too:  

As a Technology Site Manager you will deploy our Caterpillar Command solution, manage product support and drive equipment management processes at the mine site in collaboration with our Dealer. You will optimize system performance by ensuring key system and productivity performance indicators are met. You will be key in leading change management projects to transition from traditional mine site operations to an autonomous hauling operation integrated with connected assets.

Key responsibilities for the Technology Site Manager include:

• Partner with the customer, Dealer Site Manager, and Caterpillar Site Performance Manager to bring resources together to improve the performance of Caterpillar autonomous mining equipment operated at the site.
• Build & lead a team of site based employees across implementation, application and operations roles.
• Establish and maintain high-level relationships with internal Caterpillar team members, the Dealer and the Customer.
• Work collaboratively with Caterpillar engineering to implement timely corrective actions that mitigate the impact of product issues to customer.
• Maintain key site performance metrics including technology availability, production metrics, operating cost per ton, uptime, AHS fleet utilization, safety, etc.
• Manage Caterpillar Business Risk related to commercial activity with the site. Partner closely with the Sales teams on commercial opportunities at the site.
• Act as a consultant to dealer and customer, advising on strategic direction for proper equipment selection, product problem management and equipment management activities

Selection Criteria

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining or a related field.
• Relevant experience in the Construction, Automation, Mining Industry or Machine Technology.
• Experience in project management.
• People management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the business unit and Caterpillar to take specific actions.
