About the role

In this role, you will provide assistance to the Environmental Health Department in carrying out an efficient and effective mosquito management program that minimises the negative public health impacts on the community resulting from mosquitoes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the administration of key program areas in the Environmental Health Department, primarily the mosquito management program.
  • Assist the Team Leader Environmental Health and the Health Development Officer in the daily operation of the mosquito management program
  • Carry out larval and adult monitoring of mosquitoes and sample collection
  • Carry out ground-based treatments of adult mosquitoes and larvae using approved products and equipment
  • Assist aerial treatments of mosquito larvae using approved products and equipment
About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence
  • Current employee Working with Children check.
  • Possess significant knowledge of mosquito breeding throughout the municipality, especially on the Bellarine Peninsula
  • Have knowledge and experience in methods of larval and adult mosquito monitoring and management.
  • Have experience using approved products for larval and adult mosquito control
  • Have experience using equipment that can access difficult terrain for mosquito monitoring and management.
