Total Earth Care is currently recruiting for an Automotive Technician/Mechanic who will be required to perform a variety of repair, diagnostics and preventative maintenance works of all company vehicles and power tools. The Automotive Technician/Mechanic will be reporting to the Maintenance Department Manager about maintenance works performed to ensure ongoing compliance and record keeping. This position works in liaison with Site Supervisors and Project Managers. This position is a 100% physical and demanding job.
This role requires:
Mechanical tasks: Ongoing maintenance, repairs, and periodic servicing of company vehicles; including UTE’s, excavators, forklifts, trailers, bob cats and general automotive; ongoing maintenance, repairs and periodic compliance servicing or ad hoc servicing of power tools; including brush-cutters, chainsaws, pumps, sprayers etc.; and general tools (non-engine).
Compliance related: Maintaining the garage/floor organised, tidy, functional, and safe; assisting the maintenance department manager with maintenance records keeping; obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed; renewing MV Registrations, etc.
Skills and Experience
Qualification/Licences
Essential:
- Relevant Mechanic qualifications in either Petrol or Diesel vehicles
- Relevant Mechanic ticket (NSW trade ticket in mechanical field)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Automotive industry or related
- Experience in garage management & maintenance
- Strong communication & record maintenance skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Manual Drivers Licence (preferably C, R, HR)
- White Card (Work Health and Safety General Induction Card)
Desirable
- Current First Aid training
- High Risk Work / Forklift Licence
- Previous Heavy Plant maintenance experience
- Understanding of Environmental & or Construction Industry
