About our role:
Due to internal movement, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated National Account Manager (NAM) to join our Coles team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager - Coles and based at our head office in Mentone, Melbourne you will be responsible for partnering with, managing, and driving growth of our Coles partnership to achieve targets for profitable growth and equity for Simplot brands and products in their Frozen portfolio.
What you will do:
As the NAM for Coles, you will manage all retail sales activities including business & category planning, managing end to end the Joint Business Plan process, involved with cost price increase submissions, and NPD pipeline, whilst also partnering with category & insights to generate new business opportunities.
You will actively participate in the category team to develop an aligned channel strategy and initiatives that will deliver sustainable growth in areas such as sales, distribution and market share.
The NAM will also be responsible for providing high-level Coaching, Mentoring and Management of a National Account Executive.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Full ownership of the 0-12 month forecast and ensure biases are reviewed and corrected
- Delivery of annual budget through ongoing evaluation of sales performance, and make necessary corrections to improve sales profitability
- Manage the product mix to achieve required financial targets
- Building and managing internal and external partnerships to ensure delivery of retail channel objectives.
- Actively involved in setting strategy for the Coles team through the development of a robust Commercial Operational Plan, and implemented through Joint Business Plans
- Implementation of cost price increases
- Accountable for trade engagement and source trade input of NPI
To be successful in this role you will have experience in a National Account Management role, ideally working with a major retailer or come from a Category Management role within an FMCG, Foodservice or Food Manufacturing company. You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of marketing principles and the ability to build cross functional relationships combined with an aptitude for understanding and analysing detailed financial information and reports. Tertiary qualifications in business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Importantly you will be an expert communicator, who is authentic and can bring stories to life and connect people. You will use your strong influencing and negotiation skills to efficiently deliver retail channel objectives to meet customer requirements within timeframes and budget.
