Our client is a successful ASX listed company which has been operating for over 100 years and has an international footprint. The business manufactures and distributes building products in Australia and owns and operates recycling and scrap businesses.
The role
The National Commercial Manager is a new role and is part of the leadership team. You will be a key business partner and shall be responsible for all contract management support nationally including the deployment of the national contract management business strategy and governance plans. You will lead a small team of contract managers and an administrative support team.
About you
You will be legally qualified and shall have around 10 years plus relevant experience, including in pre-contract negotiation of commercial terms and conditions, providing post contract management support and, the negotiation of claims and disputes.
Your strong leadership, people management and contract law skills, including commercial contract drafting will be critical to your success. Your strong understanding of contracts as they relate to infrastructure projects and of construction management, as well as manufacturing processes, sales, and systems knowledge will be valuable in this role. Experience in health and safety, including investigations, and in business management is required. Ideally, you will have knowledge of the steel industry, including, markets, trends, customers, competitors, and innovations.
You will have a commercial, practical approach and be adept at working with business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes whilst assessing and managing commercial risk.
