You’ll help build evidence to transform Australian businesses and governments to create value and improve the way they work. As a National Public Policy and Economics - Associate/Senior Associate, you’ll add value to our high profile policy development and reform projects that extend from market development and reform to program evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Australian Bureau of Statistics data to analytical work in various public policy areas

  • Undertake desktop research on policy developments and innovations in national and international jurisdictions (e.g. national and international approaches to energy reform, school reform, fiscal policy approaches, and infrastructure policy development)

  • Perform general research and synthesis tasks, including rapid reviews and market analysis of published, peer-reviewed, grey literature materials and market data, synthesising key findings and themes

  • Read and interrogate Commonwealth and state/territory budget papers and Portfolio Budget Statements from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective

  • Understand key concepts in relation to health economic analysis, including cost benefit analysis, quality of life years, health technology assessments, return on investment and social return on investment to support with research and analysis

  • Research legislation and regulations, including history of amendments (explanatory memoranda to bills, Hansard debates, etc.)

  • Understand key concepts in relation to program evaluation and review.

Requirements

  • You’re a graduate in Economics, Research, Law, Public Policy, or Commerce.

  • Due to the security requirements to access the data involved in delivering our projects, you must be an Australian Citizen who has, OR is willing to obtain a minimum government NV1 Security Clearance.
