Job description

Do you enjoy leading specialist teams who are working with participants with disability and experience mental illness? If you are someone who enjoys mentoring and supporting staff to support people within the NDIS to reach their life goals then this role is for you.

Woden Community Service (WCS) is a for-purpose organisation that has been providing community-based services for over 50 years. Our vision of ‘A caring community where everyone belongs’ is achieved through our values of Inclusion, Compassion, Hope, Responsiveness, Integrity and Social Justice.

We deliver a wide range of services on behalf of the ACT and Australian Governments’ across the ACT and region. We employ more than 400 staff and an active volunteer program.

WCS provides services covering a cross-section of the community from children, families, young people and seniors including disability, housing, refugee and mental health services.

As an NDIS Team Leader, Direct Service, you will develop and coordinate a wide range of supports which empower participants to live a fulfilling life in the community. You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders and monitor and maximise participant NDIS budgets to enhance their quality of life and build long-term respectful relationships with participants, guardians and other service providers/mainstream services.

Our Offer

Fixed-term full-time appointment based in Woden until mid-February 2024
Salary $89,046.41 p.a. plus 10.5% superannuation
Salary packaging (up to $15,899 per year) plus meal and entertainment cards
Paid shutdown leave on standard working days between Christmas and New Year
National EAP Service
Ongoing professional development and a supportive team environment

Experience and Skills

Qualifications e.g. Certificate IV in mental health, Community Services or equivalent.
Experience leading outreach teams.
ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration with NDIS worker screening.
Current First Aid Certificate.
Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential enquiries and information.
Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build and maintain sound relationships with individuals, carers and families based on mutual respect and trust.
Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality and ethical behaviour.
