We are seeking Eapplications from suitably qualified individuals for the permanent full time role of Nurse Educator2 Newborn and paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS)

The NE2 is required to work from the NETS service at Bankstown Aerodrome and the SCHN Education service to effectively engage all critical stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

The Nurse Educator Grade 2 (NE2) works under the direction of the SCHN Network Nursing Education Manager (NNEM) in collaboration with the Nurse Manager of the NETS NSW. The NE2 is responsible and accountable for the coordination and support of the nursing clinical and non-clinical achievements of the strategic direction for education within NETS and development of programs integrating NETS with the Critical Care Service. It is expected that programs will be planned, developed, implemented and evaluated that contribute to the capability of the critical care service while sustaining the NETS workforce.

The NE2 role includes coordination of existing resources to deliver educational priorities and the development of neonatal and paediatric retrieval-focused resources.

Key Performance Indicators

Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate educational activities within portfolio of responsibility with key stakeholders to meet the organisational educational strategies.

Ensure timely reporting of key portfolio of responsibility issues or risks to stakeholders.

Market educational opportunities within the SCHN and create conditions where staff can maximise compliance to mandatory training requirements and educational development opportunities.

Demonstrate compliance, improvement and maintenance of quality improvement activities as they relate to education.

Ensure collaborative and positive relationships between education and other key stakeholders.

Demonstrated mentoring and coaching of key stakeholders to ensure best practice.

Contribute to an education program for NETS involving scenario training and simulation of the retrieval environment that NETS nurses will be exposed to in their work environment

Contribute to the development, implementation, review and evaluation of the annual Education Plan through the regular reporting of educational outcomes.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Relevant post registration nursing/ midwifery clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area.

Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs for paediatrics and adolescents within the portfolio or responsibility.

Demonstrated effective leadership skills including the ability to communicate, negotiate and problem solve.

Demonstrate evidence of the provision of relevant education material and programs that incorporate the use of adult learning principles.

Evidence of being professionally active within the specialty area of paediatrics and adolescents demonstrating self-motivation along with competence in managing competing priorities to deliver quality outcomes

Evidence of preparation of written submissions and reports and demonstrated skills in the use of MS Office
