Here's an overview of our role:
Reporting to our Team Leader Control & Dispatch Electricity, we have an opportunity available for a Network Coordinator to join our Electricity Control Room on a permanent, full time basis.
This role is responsible for the efficient and safe operational planning, control and coordination functions on Networks under the operational management of the Control Room.
If successful, you will be required to participate in a 24 x 7 Control Room (where you will be based onsite in the office) Shift Work and Availability Roster to ensure adequate resources for all contingencies.
You will have experience working with computer systems used for monitoring or control of process equipment and will have the ability to work independently and be able to cope with emergency situations.
A Little About you:
To set yourself up for success in Jemena, you will come from an operational or technical background ideally with experience working within the utilities industry, specifically electricity. You will have an understanding of technical drawings, reports, manuals and procedures and potentially come from a trade based role specialising in instrumentation, electrical or mechanical.
You will ideally have knowledge in the operation of an electrical distribution network as well as operating procedures and practices. You will also have an understanding of electrical distribution network elements, construction maintenance and testing activities and knowledge in sub transmission and distribution network protection and control scheme
The selected candidate will have the ability to operate autonomously, make clear decisions and manage high workloads within an operational environment. With a high level of personal integrity, ethical standards and interpersonal skills this person will be able to demonstrate a strong customer service focus as well as having effective time management and planning skills.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Diploma of Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) - System Operations (or equivalent) or appropriate experience plus ability to undertake Diploma of ESI - System Operations,
- Appreciation in other Energy Network elements, construction, maintenance and testing activities would be preferred but not essential,.
- Analytical skills related to Network operational matters,
- Computer and typing skills in the use of the SCADA system and specific PC based control room applications,
- A firm, decisive manner, calm and disciplined during emergency / abnormal events,
- An ability to think laterally in relation to operational matters, and to multi task under pressure,
- Ability to read, understand and adhere to complex procedures, practices and protocols,
- Ability to work independently, undertake shift work and cope with emergency situations,
- Ability to adapt to and embrace new technology within both field and Control Room environments.
