What you'll be doing

Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) is committed to improving the care provided to our patients in line with our vision of Working together to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

Plan, coordinate and deliver high quality orthoptic care to patients of the Orthoptic Department consistent with (SCHN) policies, procedures and standards.

Hold a masters in Orthoptics or hold a bachelor of applied science and master of Orthoptics or be eligible for registration with the Australian Orthoptic board.

Demonstrated keenness and ability to work with children and their families.

Previous experience in a paediatric ophthalmic setting that has allowed the application of theory to practice with reference to paediatric ophthalmic disorders.

Demonstrated willingness to work with other professionals as part of overall patient care.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability and willingness to work independently but to seek guidance where appropriate.

Experience working as part of a team.

Computer skills – familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and relevant email platform.
