What you'll be doing
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Health District (ISLHD) New Street Service is part of NSW Health’s child protection services and provides a specialised, early intervention, community-based service to address harmful sexual behaviours displayed by 10–17-year-old young people who, for a range of reasons, have not been criminally prosecuted. The program includes a specific focus on improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Providing operational management and clinical coordination of the New Street Service in the ISLHD, including leading and maintaining the human, financial and physical resources across the LHD in accordance with agreed performance indicators.
Providing line management and supervision of the clinical work of the senior clinician and counsellors. The Clinical Coordinator will be recognised as an expert in this field at an advanced clinical level.
Contributing to increasing the appropriateness and effectiveness of the New Street Services for Aboriginal communities and assist with further development of the program.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualification in the relevant health field and/or extensive work experience in the area of children and young people who have sexually harmed and/or experienced harm and clinical practice in the area of sexual assault, violence and abuse or related.
Demonstrated extensive experience working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders who provide therapeutic services to children and young people who have sexually harmed and sexual assault, violence, and abuse or related.
Relevant experience in management, which includes development and coordination of clinical services within a Health Service or multidisciplinary team, ability to develop, monitor and reach predicted outcomes to strategic and business plans.
Demonstrated extensive experience working with Aboriginal communities, or ability and willingness to influence, promote and enhance outcomes for Aboriginal people including ability to participate in ongoing Aboriginal cultural competency training.
Demonstrated ability to provide high level supervision, leadership and direction to the development and coordination of clinical services within a Health Service or multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and time management skills necessary to lead with vision and inspire commitment of others and to develop and nurture internal and external partnerships.
Demonstrated understanding of the legislation, Government policies, including NSW Health policies and legal issues surrounding sexual assault and the physical abuse and neglect of children and the application of these in a health setting.
Valid unrestricted drivers’ license for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment, including overnight stays as required.
