Job Description

The role of the Hogan Software and Applications Programmer is to contribute to a program of work focused on Operational Banking Systems across Lending, Platform and support systems. You will be working in cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, providing systems analysis, design, development, maintenance & ongoing support for Core Banking applications.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Design and build and test integration solutions for specific business problems or project requirements.
Document program code in accordance with user requirements, and system and technical specifications.
Act in the role of Subject Matter Expert, Analyst or Developer as required.
Design the component of a solution covering a technical or application domain as a member of a team of developers for a project involving multiple domains.
Provide input to or develop business systems solutions, estimates and specifications.
Assist with investigations into potential solutions, liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design and costing.
Provide timely and effective advice on progress and ability to meet service and solution deliverables within agreed expectations.
Produce thorough and effective unit and system test plans and participate and/or support further testing phases.
Partners with various business and IT roles to understand and align timelines/milestones to delivery of functionality/technology.
  • Partner with our support organisation to ensure resolution of incidents and appropriate scheduling of reverse demand activities.
Engage with clients, software developers, business analysts, support analysts, quality analyst, integration, and senior management.
Closely monitoring workload and progress.
Instilling a sense of urgency on tasks and defect resolutions.
Customer focus: ability to interpret and analyse customer requirements; influence design solutions in-line with Technology strategy
Produces requirements documentation and system plans, and encode, test, debug, maintain and documents programs and applications.

Skills

Appropriate qualification in Information Technology and/or Business or equivalent industry experience.
At least ten (10+) years appropriate Hogan Core Banking industry experience.
Broad and proven experience working on the Hogan Banking platform, with at least ten years’ experience: ILP module.
Other Hogan application experience (e.g. IDS, ODS, CIS) will be an advantage and will be taken into consideration.
Mainframe z/OS COBOL, VSAM, DB2, JCL, TSO, CICS and Assembler.

Desirable

Experience developing or supporting high availability production systems.
Experience in IT in a large organization within the Financial Services industry.
