Dynamic inpatient unit with associated day infusion area
Located in East Melbourne, close to CBD and public transport
The Role
In this permanent Full-time, Nurse Unit Manager role, based in East Melbourne, you will be responsible for the performance & leadership of the highly regarded Medical unit. The unit comprises of 33 overnight beds and a 4 bed Day medical unit, specilising in various infusion treatments.
You will lead and inspire the dedicated and enthusiastic team, whilst delivering best practice, patient centred care. You will be part of the Epworth Freemasons leadership team and will report to the Associate Director of Clinical & Maternity Services.
You will make an impact by:
Having a collaborative leadership presence and driving a culture that delivers an exceptional patient and staff experience within the unit.
Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst providing high standards of patient care.
Facilitating effective patient access and clinical service mapping from both a financial and staffing perspective.
Manging clinical risk and implementing process improvements to improve patient outcomes.
Working in collaboration with medical staff, other units and the hospital executive team to ensure patient care is integrated, safe, supportive and of the highest quality
To be successful in this role
You are a proven nursing leader who has well-developed people management, organisational and financial acumen skills. An excellent communicator, you have a supportive and engaging style that enables you to easily build rapport with your team, key stakeholders, patients and their families. You foster a supportive environment for patients and staff and enjoy actively contributing to the learning and development of others.
You will have:
Current AHPRA registration
Excellent understanding of the patient journey, including the ACAS process
Contemporary knowledge of best practice nursing care
Previous management experience - at NUM or ANUM level
