About the Role
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified Registered Nurses to lead our dedicated Macpherson Smith Residential Care. Macpherson Smith Residential Care (MSRC) is a 36 bed Care Community that sees a wide range of acuity in residents.
MSRC prides itself on the involvement of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a great support structure and holistic approach to caring for every resident on an
individual basis.
This permanent full time Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) position is available from late January 2023 and includes working Monday to Friday.
This position is recognised as a key management / leadership
position within the organisation and is central to the provision of operational leadership & management to effect high quality, safe, meaningful resident centred care.
The NUM role includes
Managerial responsibilities including budgeting, resource management rostering and professional development.
Key Selection Criteria includes
Essential
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
Minimum of five years post-graduate experience in one or more of the clinical areas of
Responsibility including senior nursing leadership experience
Demonstrated management experience in a Care Community (Aged Care setting)
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary nursing theory to practice
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality systems and Aged Care accreditation
Ability to implement management principles and cost-effective resource management
Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership within a team
Evidence of commitment to innovation and continuous improvement and the delivery of a
High standard of resident centred care
Well-developed negotiation, performance management, mediation and conflict resolution
skills
Demonstrated understanding of contemporary professional nursing issues
Proficient in the use of information technology
Desirable
Post graduate qualifications in gerontology
Tertiary qualifications in health/business management or working towards it
Proficient in the use of information technology and aged care related computer programs
