An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated nursing leader to undertake the Nurse Unit Manager of Scrub Scout role at a private hospital in Sydney. It's a permanent full-time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will make an impact by providing day-to-day operational direction for the perioperative services ensuring efficient and effective management of the area. You will be able to shape your team and be a key driver in promoting growth. Your responsibilities will include overseeing safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards, Assisting the Interventional Suite Manager in the leadership and direction of the perioperative services, effectively managing human, financial and material resources, and undertaking a hands-on role, where required. You will be obligated to work closely with surgeons and anaesthetists to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and the efficiency of services and to develop a strong working relationship with these doctors.
REQUIREMENTS
Current Registration with AHPRA;
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent;
Postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing;
Postgraduate qualification in leadership or management (or equivalent);
Minimum of 5 years experience in Perioperative Services (operating theatres particularly);
Extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite with 10 or more theatres undertaking complex surgical procedures;
Experience managing a perioperative specialty or department;
Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach;
Passion for building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service;
Experience in managing budgets and attainment of targets and KPIs;
Skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within budgeted work hours;
High level of planning and organising skills;
Practical change management and project management skills;
Strong influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to adapt personal style to suit a varied audience & a variety of interpersonal styles;
Well-developed oral and written communication;
A high degree of computer literacy;
Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well-regarded;

REMUNERATION
$60.93- $65.54 per hour.

The hospital, located in Sydney, provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, a 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 state-of-the-art theatres including cardiac catheter labs, a world-class education centre, a doctor's lounge, excellent staff facilities, a café and car parking.
