Occupational Therapist

Western Health is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary health team at Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC), a maximum security women’s prison.  This role is part time, in an ongoing capacity. 

This role forms part of a well supported and innovated team and the successful applicant will be onboarded with orientation and training to the custodial setting, including additional training to support the delivery of culturally appropriate, trauma informed, gender affirming care for all patients, including priority cohorts.  This role is both operationally and clinically supported by Western Health staff.

The Grade 3 Occupational Therapy role within DPFC involves the assessment and intervention to a range of populations including physical disability, cognitive impairments, and the aged, with the intention to assist patients to optimally manage their occupational performance both whilst in custody and in ensuring a successful transition back in to the community.  This role offers the opportunity for leadership, development and creative problem solving, with a mixture of acute and subacute work.
